Overcoming The Pride Of Life

Father, I give preferential treatment to everyone I come in contact. On the road, I yield to the other driver. At the checkout, I yield to my fellow man especially if I am in a hurry. I give my friends the first opportunity to speak and I do not interrupt giving them my full attention. Everywhere I go I presume to serve. When trials come my way I count it all joy and praise You that You have given me life. I am sure to make the first move in salutations and in reconciliation. I always ask what I can do, without presumption. I do not consider myself the greatest but the least. I don't put myself first but last. I strive to reach perfection in Jesus but know I have not yet obtained it. I give to everyone who asks of me when I have it to give. I do not hold back honor when honor is due. I prefer my brothers. I defer to elders. I confer with counsel so that I may make wise decisions. And I refer when I don’t have the answer. In the name of Jesus who thought more of my life than His own.

Scripture

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; - 1 Peter 3:15 KJV

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. - Matthew 10:26-28 KJV

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. - Hebrews 10:22-25 KJV

How do I get saved?

Jesus said if you want to follow me, you must lose your life. A higher standard than the typical ask Jesus into your heart confession. You have to start somewhere, so make the confession, but then do what Jesus said daily if you really believe in him. Jesus continued telling those who want to follow him that they must also take up their cross. Which means following Jesus will put you under the microscope of today's society. But that is part of the plan of losing your life so that you may live for him eternally. And why would you want to follow Jesus with all the trouble that goes with being his disciple? Because he is the only way through death to eternal life. He is not showing us the way. He is the way!

What is 'Walk with me'?

We are living in the Enoch generation. Enoch walked with God and was found no more because God took him. To walk with God means to hear, to reflect, and then to go out into all the world proclaiming Christ crucified. As a Bible teacher, I have several websites that help people walk with God. If you don't have a church home, walk with me until you do. Walk with me is my version of onboarding people into the Kingdom of God. Subscribe to the Walk with me Newsletter to begin.
